About Middleworks

Even with modern and mature tools, making Middleware work and doing SOA, BPM and Governance effectively is still hard. Founded in 2011 by industry veteran David Shaffer,  Middleworks provides cost effective services to enable IT organizations to utilize Oracle Middleware and related products more efficiently. Our current offerings include architecture review and governance, implementation assistance, decision / resolution and training.

We can help when you have issues, need recommendations for implementation approaches, want to mature your approach or have important decisions to make (for example: when to upgrade, which components from the stack to use, how to staff effectively or build out a center of excellence, etc). We also provide SOA Suite training for developers, administrators, for 11g and 12c, and have offered the only public versions of Advanced SOA Suite training based on the Oracle internal SOA Blackbelt training. Acquired into Oracle through the acquisition of Collaxa (where the original Oracle BPEL Process Manager was developed), Dave was Vice President of Product Management at Oracle for the Oracle Integration products, covering the areas of SOA, BPM, Event Processing, Governance, Service Bus and User Productivity Kit. Prior to Oracle, he has held leadership roles in consulting, product management and software development over the last 15 years at a wide-range of technology companies including Collaxa, Apple Computer, NeXT Software, Integrated Computer Solutions and others. Dave brings 20 years of Enterprise IT and Middleware experience to customers, along with a unique wealth of knowledge and connections to the Oracle Integration products, engineering team, customers and partners.
